At the beginning of this academic year, BSA selected and awarded two winners of the inaugural BSA Diversity
Scholarship. The $1,000 scholarship is open for incoming freshman and transfer students to the University of
Michigan who qualify for financial aid. The scholarship’s purpose is to lower the financial barriers to attend U-M for
exemplary students who display the following qualities:
Empathy towards diverse demographics
Technical and rhetorical communication skills
Excellent ethical standing within local communities
The scholarship initiative received overwhelming support and we are proud to announce BSA plans to re-offer
the BSA Diversity Scholarship for the 2024-2025 academic year!!!
North Campus Deans’ MLK Spirit Awards are given to faculty, staff, students, postdocs, and student organizations in North Campus schools and colleges at the University of Michigan who exemplify the leadership and vision of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. through their commitment to social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion, including within the context of the pandemic and our reignited sense of urgency to address root causes of social injustice. BSA was awarded the MLK Spirit Award in the 2023 Academic Year.
